The speaker, Professor John Mack is President of the British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA) and an internationally-renowned authority on the arts and cultures of Kenya, Congo, southern Sudan, Madagascar, and parts of West Africa. He is widely published and currently Professor of World Art Studies and Head of the School of World Art and Museology at the University of East Anglia.
The session will be chaired by Dr Hassan Wario, Director of Museums, Sites, & Monuments at the National Museums of Kenya. Dr Wario, previously a curator at the British Museum has researched extensively on the Afro-Caribbean Diaspora communities, the pastoral cultures of Kenya and Eastern Africa, and recently, the Amerindians of the Amazon.
