This year’s London Annual Lecture will be held on Thursday 14th November 2013 at 6.00 pm at the British Academy. Professor Lawrence Barham (University of Liverpool) will speak on "Africa, Birthplace of the ‘First Industrial Revolution’?"
Professor Lawrence Barham is Professor of African Archaeology at the University of Liverpool. He has a particular interest in the development of Stone Age technology and its impact on human social evolution. He has worked in Zambia for 20 years and is extending his research into Ghana. Professor Barham was a trustee and member of Council at the BIEA from 2005 to 2009.
