Annual Symposium and AGM of the Sudan Studies Society of the United Kingdom

The Royal African Society is pleased to once again host the AGM and annual symposium of the Sudan Studies Society of the United Kingdom (SSSUK) on Saturday, 5th October.
The day will feature a variety of Sudan experts, including Dr Chris Morton, Head of Photograph Collection, Pitt Rivers Museum, on its collection of photographs and manuscripts from South Sudan; Ahmed Elzobier, blogger, on land grabbing; SSSUK Chair Dr Douglas Johnson and Prof Wendy James on the late Sudan anthropologist Ian Cunnison; Jane Hogan, Assistant Keeper at the Durham University Library with a look at Sudan maps; Dr Douglas Johnson and Nicki Kindersley, PhD candidate at Durham University, with an update on the Juba Archives project; and Helen Young, Research Director for Nutrition and Livelihoods and Darfur at the Feinstein International Center, on Sudan's livestock (tbc).
