Nigeria Research Day - Call For Papers
April 17, 2014
June 21st 2014, University College London
UCL and SOAS Departments of Politics and International Studies invites participants to a day-long workshop to showcase and discuss new research on Nigeria holding on June 21, 2014 at University College London. Participants from across the disciplines are welcome. We particularly encourage participation from early-career researchers and graduate students, as well as those engaged on scholarly research projects outside academic institutions.
The day will take the form of a series of short presentations by participants, with feedback from other participants and faculty members, concluding with a discussion of practical issues around enhancing collaboration with scholars and institutional partners in Nigeria.
Presentations will be time-limited to ten minutes (including any audio-visual content), grouped into thematic panels followed by discussions. Potential participants please note that presentations must include some remarks on their modes of collaborating with Nigerian institutions, or the potential for, or difficulties with, doing so in the course of their research.
Potential participants should email an abstract of their intended presentation – no more than 200 words maximum – to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on Sunday 20th April 2014. We will endeavour to consider all submissions but we apologise that due to the constraints of time we will give priority to those which can be most productively grouped into coherent panel themes.
Further details of the conference will be published at a later date. No financial resources will be available to support travel to or from the conference, or for accommodation.
